"These speakers are dramatically better than the speakers supplied by the BMW, as I am still using the media center supplied by BMW, The attenuater switch is a definite requirement, I found in the 0db position the sound presentation very bright and voices had a sibilance about them, also cymbals were harsh and aggressive, very tiring, so switching to the -3db position gave a much smoother top end, without loosing any impact in the music, the midrange is very open, voices are clean and uncoloured, the sound stage, the movement of sound and separation of instruments and vocals really come alive in the cabin, I also changed the rear speakers, so there is a nice integration between front and rear. So all in all very happy, considering one tends to buy blind because it is difficult to hear before buying. One small criticism is, it would be great if some badges were supplied to stick on the grilles, when I have spent so much, there is no way of knowing the speakers have been upgraded, it is also good advertising, I also ended up putting the xovers in the door pocket so I could get to the attenuater switch."
